ABOUT US

Our journey began in early 2020, in the coastal town of Deal, Kent. Founded by Daniel Styles-Martin, Studio Addelam was born from a desire to create beautiful, enduring bags and accessories using sustainable fabrics, crafted entirely in the UK.

We don’t follow fast fashion. There are no mass-produced imports, no fleeting trends, and nothing sent to landfill if it doesn’t sell. Instead, we focus on timeless, premium-quality pieces designed to be used and loved for years to come.

Many of our customers ask about the story behind our name. “Addelam” is a nod to our roots. Deal was originally recorded as “Addelam” in the 1066 Domesday Book. We’ve also named several pieces after local streets and landmarks, celebrating the heritage and character of our founding home.

Our Materials

The materials we use are the heart of what we do. When we first set out creating the Studio Addelam brand, our intention was to create beautifully individual pieces from fabrics that often end up wasted. We hunted high and low for quality deadstock fabrics (often wasted in the fashion industry once a season ends) and one off remnant pieces, usually left over from other projects. We aim for all our fabrics to be the most sustainable option we can find such as recycled fibres, organic, or UK woven. This means we are proud to offer our customers pieces that are made responsibly, in small quantities, whilst supporting UK manufacturing.

Our Craftmanship

We’re proud to say all our pieces are made right here in the United Kingdom. Whether it be our trusted manufacturing partners or the Studio Addelam workshop itself, it’s all made by hand. We're proud to support UK manufacturing, celebrating British craftmanship and playing our part in reducing the demand for imported goods.

Our Promise

We will never set unrealistic promises or make bold statements, but we will always promise to act in a kind and responsible way to our customers, suppliers, environment and local community. We will respect our environment, always striving to improve our sustainability standards. We will do our best to look after our customers and deliver a quality product.
